Savannah-Chatham police discovered a man collapsed and suffering from a gunshot wound about 1 p.m. Tuesday near a Savannah College of Art and Design building.
The man, who was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in serious condition, was uncooperative with investigators, said Gena Sullivan, metro police spokeswoman.
Police do not believe the man was shot near the SCAD building at the intersection of Orchard and Montgomery streets where he was found, Sullivan said.
Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Records Department temporarily moving
Ongoing construction and renovations at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office complex have forced the Corrections Bureau Records Department to temporarily move.
On June 18, the department will begin operating from 41 Park of Commerce Drive, Suites 308-309, said Michelle Gavin, sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
Public access for letters to inmates, copies of inmate records, etc. will be available 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

I-516 eastbound Exit 5 off-ramp temporarily closed
Georgia Department of Transportation crews will temporarily close the Interstate 516 eastbound Exit 5 off-ramp to Interstate 16 today. Maintenance work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
The detour route will be signed as follows:
• Motorists traveling on I-516 eastbound should take the Exit 3 off-ramp, then turn left on U.S. 17/Ogeechee Road and cross under the I-516 overpass, then turn left onto the I-516 westbound on-ramp. Drivers should then continue on I-516 west to Exit 5, then take Exit 5 off-ramp to I-16.
I-16 westbound exit 164-A ramp temporarily closed
Georgia Department of Transportation crews will temporarily close the westbound Exit 164-A ramp on Interstate 16 for maintenance work today. Maintenance work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.
The ramp closure will only affect westbound I-16 traffic exiting onto Interstate 516/Lynes Parkway. I-16 westbound traffic from downtown Savannah will be detoured to Exit 164-B to access I-516 eastbound.
The detour route will be signed as follows:
• Motorists traveling westbound on I-16 from downtown Savannah should take Exit 164-B, continue on I-516 west to Exit 6/Gwinnett Street. Drivers should turn left onto West Gwinnett Street and cross under the I-516 overpass, then turn left on the I-516 eastbound ramp.
Single lanes of Diamond Causeway closed
Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will be installing a single-lane closure of eastbound and westbound Ga. 204 spur/Diamond Causeway, starting near mile marker 5 and continuing past mile marker 6 west of Roebling Bridge over Skidaway Narrows. This single lane closure is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Thursday, weather permitting.
Lane closure on Gulfstream Road
A portion of Gulfstream Road will be narrowed to one lane for utilities construction today.
Beginning at 6 p.m., the westbound lane will be closed for about 12 hours and will re-open upon completion of the work, according to a Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport release.
Airport passengers, tenants and employees are encouraged to use the main Airport entrance off Interstate 95.
